Our story
It started like most local companies in small Midwestern towns.
No big crews, no offices – just one person: Michael.
Back in 1969, he was going around town, knocking on doors asking if anyone would need furnace replacements.
It started slow, but through quality work and dedication, word got around. Not long after, Mike began expanding services, including plumbing repairs, HVAC installation, and general construction. He became a one-stop shop for local residential and small business needs.
Eight years later, in 1977, an opportunity emerged.
William, an entrepreneur, and David, his son-in-law, approched Mike as partners. William brought investment capital, allowing the operation to expand, hire more workers and take on larger, more complex projects.
In 1978, the company was officially incorporated, taking the name of its three founders—W.D.M. Enterprises Inc.
Their names have come to inspire our company motto: We Do More.
It is not just a slogan—it reflects the way we have always worked:
More than just showing up.
More than just doing what is required.
More than just finishing the job.
With his new partners, Michael was able to provide that same level of service to more across the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin. Less than a year after the company incorporated, William passed away. In his absence, David stepped into the role of primary investor and continued developing W.D.M. alongside Mike. Over time, as the business grew, Mike bought out David and become the sole owner.
By then, the days of knocking on doors were long gone.
Mike continued to grow the business, with the added help of his wife, Monica, and two children, Brian and Pete.
Over the coming decades, W.D.M. Enterprises Inc. has become a trusted name for residential and commercial construction, plumbing, heating, and cooling services across the region. After over five decades, Mike stepped down and handed the reigns over to his son Brian, who himself has worked for the company for over 40 years.
In January 2022, Michael passed the company to his son, Brian.
Today, even Brian’s son is involved in the company, working on projects and continuing the family tradition. Three generations have now shaped the company’s journey, from small residential service work to large commercial projects.
Nowadays, W.D.M. Enterprises Inc. continues to bring the same level of care, drive,
and hard work that we started with.
